if you read the post about blowing insulation in the in-laws attic, you read that I had to stop and make a tool to make the job work better for me, well because of that I had more work to do later.
With my little milwaukee flashlight taped to the end of the broom handle it got a lot of insulation on it. Well with the heat coming from the bulb it ended up melting the insulation onto the front lens.
So of course I go digging to see if I can buy a new lens for the light, of course Milwaukee does not sell that piece on its own. I would have to buy the lens, front ring, and reflector together which would cost about 13 bucks. Well a whole new light is only 20 bucks. Hmm what to do.
As I was standing in the garage trying to figure out what I could do, I was looking at the recycling bin the garage and saw a Gatorade bottle my son has drank earlier in the day while working in the yard. It occured to me the top of the bottle was about the same size as the lens in the light. I cut the top out of the cap and it fit in the light just fine. It aint the most pretty thing in the world, but it works, and its free.
