The forbidden fruit

A little over a year ago, I owned a old Ipod and my wife had a failr new one I had bought her for our aniversary

As of now we own four ipods for three people (long story), a Mac Mini is our home computer that my wife also works from home on, (we still have the old windows PC, but it doesnt even get turned on anymore), We have a Time Capsule serving as our home wireless network and computer backup, a Airport express which I use to hard wire other computers into the network and to stream music from itunes, and now I have gone off the edge and bought an IPad.

Yep, not only have I taken a bite of the apple, I have eaten the whole thing and gone for more.  I will admit I am a techo geek and like to play with cool toys, but most of this started because I was tired of fighting with home computing pieces just to live my daily life.  I constantly had issues with the linksys wireless router we had, our PC spent more time updating itself or scanning itself or whatever than it did actually doing something for us and when it did do something for us it took forever.  I have been involved with windows and macs for years through work and I knew macs had their place in time but the newest operating system has made home life so much easier.  I switched my wife from a PC to a mac in one day.  She had never used a mac before and in one day or her working it alone, she was sold.  It took me less than 5 minutes to take the time capsule and set it up as a replacement for our linksys.  The linksys took me hours to get configured and running.  The airport express came on and worked.  easy squeezy.

And right now I have had a Ipad delivered to the house.  It was a pain in the ass with apple as they shipped anything you ordered online from China and it got held up in customs, but it is finally here.  Why did I buy it?  Well the main reason is I am going across the pond next week and will be on two 10 hour plane rides in 4 days so I decided this would be a good time to try it out.  Also though my wife travels for work and does not have anything to take with her other than her crackberry and we are going to try this and see if it will work for what she needs.  Lugging around a laptop is not really something she needs to do.

We will see, I know this has nothing to do with the garage and what goes on there, but since we have fallen down the rabbit hole so far, I thought I would share
