Challenging project

My parents just moved and in the process the movers broke a marble countertop for a dressing table they had.

here it is pieced together on my workbench

The break is the upper left corner in the picture under the shims.

I have been doing research and if I mix marble dust with polyester resin glue then I will be able to not only glue the slab back together, but supposedly fill the voids left from when it broke.  Of course after I do that I have to sand and polish the top to smooth it all back out.

no big deal.....  yeah right.
