NO, not that kind of child, this blog is about tools!!!!
We got home the other night and leaned up against the front porch was a 8' tall wrapped up box. I bet the UPS guy really hated me that day. Here it is laying on the floor in the garage
The short yellow box is 5 feet long, the long brown box on the right is almost 9' long. They were both wrapped together along with a lot of packing material in a tall shrinkwrapped group.
Of course that is not all that came, here is what was in the second box that was on the porch.
If you look over to the right of this article right now (really, right now, look over there...... ok, done?) you will see "coming soon Tool purchases" now look at the above picture, now look to the right.... Look familiar?
Finally found one for the right price. Its a Dewalt DW520 Tracksaw. I bought the 59" and the 102" tracks to go with it (hence the tall box) And I got clamps, 90degree gauge, router adaptor, and the track connector also. Great thing about the deal was I was able to get all of that for what just the saw would normally cost me.
Now, here is the thing, there are a lot of people out there that are tool collectors, and a lot of people think I am one of them. I will tell you right now I am NOT a tool collector. I buy tools to use them, not to sit around and look pretty. Come to my shop, look at what a mess it is, that is not by design, it is a mess because I use it all the time.
Still dont believe me? Below are pics of me using my brand new tracksaw within 24 hours of it hitting the door. Plugged into my festool vac and I cant say the cut was dustless because I dont believe anything is dustless, but it was as damn close as anything I have ever seen.
This tool is going into that "Why didn't I buy one of these a long time ago" categories.
It is awesome.
more review information down the road after I have used it more, as a matter of fact, I have more work to do with it tonight.
