Fun with a welder, part 47!

I have a American Flag hanging on my front porch  (as everyone should)  story about it here...

Old Glory

Well the mount that I had purchased for it was crap.  It was bending letting the flag hang down and touch the bushes, and the flag was constantly being pulling out of it   (not falling to the ground mind you, just slipping)

Well rather than buying another crappy product made in china from cheap pot metal that will fall apart in a month, I thought about it and said  "why dont I just build my own?  I own a welder you know...."

Here is a pic of the old mount

Here is a pic of the new mount.

Its very simply a piece of plate steel, and some square tubing welded together.  I notched the bottom of the tubing to let water come out the bottom to ensure it wont hold water.  a little rattle can black covered it all up.

Nice, simple, easy, and will last a LOT longer than the crap from china

Its nice owning a welder...
