Sad to see it falling apart,

Alcatraz is one of those modern marvels to me.  To think what it took to build that in the time that it was built.  The mechanics that went into all the locks and controls and everything in a time when there werent computers to monitor everything for you, I think its just cool.

The sad part about these kind of things is that we let them fall apart.

At the time we were in San Francisco, the tours were sold out (luckily we bought tickets ahead of time) and they were carrying piles of people back and forth to the island all day long.  Where is all that money going?  Why isnt it going to restore and upkeep these buildings?  Whose fat pockets are we lining so that we can let these places fall down?  Or is this something that people want it to fall down?

Its frustrating to me

the LOML and I had been there before, we went this time so my child could see it, at this point I dont see us going back, especially if they dont do anything to help keep it there.
