So as part of K's Kitchen renovation, she wants to get more cabinets in her kitchen, and that means changing the size of a window to allow cabinets to go below it and above it.
Old window from the inside..
Old window from the outside
so after getting back from our Spring break trip, M and I went over to get the old window out, re-frame the size, and get the new window in.
We did pretty well, got the old window out and the fiberboard siding off in about 30 minutes. Then we re-framed the window opening, covered the outside with felt paper, put new hard-board siding on, rubber membrane around the window opening, installed the window, sealed and insulated all the gaps.
Started to work on framing in the window box on the inside, but ran out of supplies and time so we stopped for the day.
The new inside..
The new outside...
Have to get back over there and help them finish the framing on the inside, and install some nailing cleats in the walls in a few other places (to hold cabinets) so they can have an electrician do some work, so they can insulate, so the drywall can be installed, etc, etc, etc
Still have some trim to install on the outside to pretty things up, but at least its dry'd in
