and yet, I still did it.

I was working on a project for work that involved tapping some aluminium (extruded aluminium to be specific) and needed a 1/4-20 tap.  I was working late so I did not get to go to the store I wanted to in order to buy the tap, but I was driving by the mall

I told the LOML I was going to stop there even though I knew they would not have what I needed.

Low and behold, they did have what I needed.

HMM, strange, feeling happy about Sears.  Not sure what to do about that.

Take tap set with me to work the next day, work on tapping the holes, half way through hole #1 the tap snaps in half.

You have got to be kidding me

just for the record, this aint my first Rodeo, tapped many holes in my life.  I drilled it to the right size, had a little tapping oil action going on. I was straight and true to the piece.

HMM, what could be the problem?
