I have decided I need to get started on my big project.
What does that entail?
Getting the truck fixed up. Main thing right now, get the rocker panels cut out and replaced with new sheet metal, because they are rusted up bad.
I took the old, crappy, 1970's mom mobile car, bench seat out.
I removed the gas tank
and here we go, no big deal up to this point. Everything looks good, bolts came out, etc.
Then came the doormats someone used as carpet for the truck
And glued them down with some kind of adhesive that should be used to build houses, because hurricanes have got nothing against this tuff.
After an hour or so of using the Fein oscillating tool with a scraper blade on it, finally got that out.
And more bad news. The underside of all that, since the carpet was rubber backed, is rusted.
Dammit.
Cant say I'm surprised, but I was hopeful it wouldnt be rusted.
Now thats more I need to replace.
Next step, get the doors off, the paint sanded off, and get the rockers out.
Then I will deal with the floor pans
DD
Looking good, can't wait to see the next step!
