My own Moat

I guess every guy dreams of having his own castle

and you cant have a castle without a moat.

well, I got a moat...

I know, I have jumped ahead.  Let me back up.

If you are one of the few people who waste their time to read this, you know I have been having flooding issues at my shop.

Well to start working on a way to deal with that, I know I need to get the water away from the building.  The weeping tile someone put in years ago was done wrong, and it just doesnt work anymore (if it ever did)

First part of dealing with it was digging a trench

I decided it would be better to rent a tool  (I know, it hurst to even type that) to do this rather than do shovels.  and plus the LOML wouldnt let me just buy a mini excavator.  Which to me, we should just buy it.  You never know how much it might come in handy.  I mean how cool would it to be able to roll up with your own mini excavator.

but anyway, I didnt buy it, I rented.  so I showed up at the BORG at OMG-thirty and waited for them to open.  signed my first born away, hitched up the trailer, and off we went to start digging.

yep, M got some time on it also.  (and yes, he did better than I did.  Was more smooth, etc)

So we ended up getting a 40' trench dug, and a deep hole at the end of it to put a dry well.

hence we get back to the first picture.

because after I dug all of this, it rained some more.  A lot more.

and my trench and dry well became full of water.

so now one of these days it will stop raining and I can move on to working on getting the old weeping tile up from next to the building. get all the piping done, and maybe be able to get water to move away from the building

I know, crazy idea.
