And so it begins

what is the one thing to do when you have so many projects to do, that you cant keep track of them all ?

start another one.

Yep, thats right

all this does is shuffle which project is more important, with this one floating more towards the top.

and every project needs to have a beginning, and well, this is it, hence the title of "And so it begins"

My dedicated and loyal readers will remember that many years ago, we purchased a 1969 C10 truck.

The overall plan for that truck lately has been that it becomes M's first vehicle, because of his age the timing on this is getting short, hence, new project.

so D, M and I spent some time over the holidays to get the truck torn into and start making it ready.

for those that dont remember,  the truck

and the person who will hopefully soon be driving it

this picture was a few years ago,

ok, maybe it was more than a few years ago

fine, it was 7 years ago, happy?

anyway...

started by taking the front clip off, grill, lights, fenders, inner housings, radiator, hoses, radiator support, etc  (you get the idea)

we also took out all the old aircon parts, as a totally new system will go in its place  (hey, its Texas, we dont consider aircon a "option")

and started taking the top end of the motor apart to get it ready to yank out.

in the rear we removed the bed

with only 3 of us,  which is a feat of its own I must say.

and now have a couple piles of parts stacked in the hanger

thinking the first step is going to be tearing down the front suspension, getting all the pieces replaced that need to be replaced, and getting it put back together.  Front will get lowered some, and also get a disc brake upgrade while we are at it.
