We have a "Spa" as it is referred to, connected to our Pool. It has a few jets in it and we have a heater we can use to heat up that water.
We use this from time to time, (I should say I use it from time to time) but with M playing Varsity football now, he has been using it more often. Lots of sore muscles pushing around all those big guys apparently
One night he turns all the stuff on, waits the usual time, goes out to get in and comes back. He tells me the water is cold. I go out and look and sure enough the heater is not lighting. (Gas heater)
I tell him once the sun is up the next day I will take it apart and look at it to see what the deal is.
I do some digging around the Google and find out a few common issues. Its funny because everyone says the problem is related to Mice getting inside the heater.
Well thats not the problem I told myself.
Next day I get out there and tear the heater apart,
I open up the control box to look for the igniter circuit
there were 4 lizards inside the control box. I was working on making them leave, and realizing that one wasnt moving, and that one happened to be on the wires to the igniter circuit. Then of course I realized that he was not with us anymore. He was nice and crispy. I removed him from the unit and then because of all the debris inside I got the leaf blower to clean the unit out.
While blowing the unit out, a mice comes running out of the bottom of the unit scared to death.
yeah, Mice definitely arent the problem.
Of course I put it all back together and everything works great, now that the lizard isnt shorting out the electronics anymore.....
and all is right with the world again...
