collateral damage to the wood find

Well the problem I had with going and getting the wood that was in the lot being cleared out was my truck broke down on the way back home.

It didnt really run right from the time I got it cranked, but I hadn't driven it in awhile and I just decided it was being pissy with me.  Unfortunately on the way home it just died  I decided it was out of gas because of the way it sputtered on me first so I had my wife bring me some gas.  After putting in gas though it did not help.  We ended up chaining it to my tahoe and towed it the few miles back home  (my wife did a GREAT job towing, never ran into the back of the tahoe or nothin)

After getting home and messing with it I realize the fuel pump is burned out.

So the next day I stopped on the way home from work and picked up a fuel pump and went home and installed it.

Got it installed and it is working, but no gas coming out.  I do hear air getting sucked from the gas pickup on the tank and sure enough, the line is cracked at the gas tank.  Of course that whole area is covered with some kind of goo from someone at some point.

I spent about 30 minutes with some tools getting all the goo off and I was able to pull the pickup out of the tank and it definitely has issues.  Off I go to order another part.

What I need to do is go ahead and change the gas tank to a rear mounted one, which is my long term plan.  Right now though we have so many things going on and I really need that truck running.  I just dont think I have the time to do all the fab work I need to do in order to get the gas tank relocated.  Hopefully the new gas pickup will come in and I can get it running again.
