See something missing? Maybe a float for the gauge?
Anyway, got the new one installed and went to put the gas line back on it and ran into one of those "one of these things is not like the other" deals. The old line has a 5/16 thread on it, the new one had a 3/8. So that meant a ride to the parts store.
So yesterday after work I stopped at the parts store and found they had a short piece of 3/8" gas line, already flared and connectored and everything. Problem was it has connectors on both ends.
HMMM, I could cut the pipe and use it as is, OR, I would cut the nut off and keep the flare on the other end to use to keep my rubber gas line on. I went with door #2
so after a little work with my crapsman rotary tool that I have had for like forever I was able to cut the nut off one end and get it all installed in the truck with new rubber lines and everything.
I even got a new in-line fuel filter to put at the carb
And what do you know, the truck started and ran.
Ran like crap, its rough, doesn't want to idle, etc. Might have fouled some of those plugs running it lean when the pump was dying, might be time for a tune-up. HMMM
