The "Secret" Project - Step 78

We have a project we are working on as a christmas present for someone special to us and I was able to really get started on it in the last few weeks.  It is a project I actually bought plans for and at this point I plan on following them, for the most part.

Over the last week or so I have cut out all the patterns needed from the plans  (luckily these were full size patterns)

And I have glued all the patterns to 1/4" plywood as I am going to make templates to cut everything from.

Sunday I used the jigsaw and rough cut my plywood sheet up,

then went to the bandsaw and cut all the parts real close to the line,

then to the OSS to sand each pattern down to the line.

Only issue I had was with the bandsaw.  First blade I had on there was too think and i could not make the cuts I needed to make, second blade I snapped in half, while cutting  (that was fun).  I am guessing I had the tension turned up too high as it broke at the weld.  Third blade worked great.

What was really cool was my son (that would be lefty there with the cast on) helped me with a lot of this.

I am now working on laying out the 4/4 wood needed for the project.  I have to go buy some 8/4 wood so I can continue to cut parts out.
