Something else on my to do list for my 9 year old son

for those of you who know my child, you know he loves guns.  He has a pile of Nerf guns and there are constant Nerf wars in the house.  He has a couple of BB guns and loves to shoot them.  At the State Fair he does the ones that let you shoot out the target.  At a school trip to the zoo the other week he wanted to shoot the guns at the shooting gallery.  Short story, M loves guns.

Consequently one of the things I wanted him to do was shoot a gun this summer.  Well while we were down at M&J's working on the door, I took the chance to push big M to let little M shoot a gun.  Of course he had no problems and pulled out his Brand New 22 Magnum bolt action rifle to let him shoot.  Literally, the gun had been shot twice before M got his chance.

We drove the mule out into the pasture and big M had a deer feed bag stapled to a tree.  We setup M with the guy propped on some bags on the back of the Mule and he looked through the 1000 dollar Nikon scope and started shooting.

The first one scared him a little, the noise that is.  After that he was grinning so big I thought his face was going to break in half.  He ended up shooting about 3 mags worth of bullets.  Big M made him re-load the mags and everything.  By the time the dinner bell rang back home M was a expert at loading, setting the safety on and off, pulling the bolt back to pop the old cartridge and pushing it back to load the new and as far as the shooting goes....  well I can tell you there is a picture of a deer on a feedbag with a lot of holes in it, and they are grouped quite well.

Of course as expected I did not take the camera with me, so the only picture I have is a picture of M with the guy he shot back at the house

Needless to say this will not be the last time M shoots a gun, and I see a future for him owning a lot of guns
