With a Welder, you can do anything

I have to say that I love having a welder.  It comes in so handy for many projects that come up.  A perfect example of this was our gate to the backyard.  The fence has shifted over the years and with that the gate does not line up with the latch anymore.

You can see the gate it too high and it requires you to use your foot to push down on the gate to latch it.

so what did we do?  I used a cutting wheel to cut the latch off the fence, grinding everything smooth, and then M welded it back on the fence a little higher  (because as I have said before, every 9 year old should know how to weld!)

Here is the latch welded back on and painted with a rattle can.

Now the gate closes and opens easy and latches every time  (sorry Domino, no more running when the gate doesnt shut completely)
