The Woodworking Shows

For a number of years now, like 8 or 9, there has been a traveling woodworking expo type show come to town  (think it missed one year in there somewhere, but anyway)  It was in Arlington for a number of years, then moved out to Big Town, this year it was at the new Los Colinas place. Over the years, the size of the show has gone down a lot, the number of vendors there has gone down a lot and its just hard to go there and see anything you havent seen before.  We did manage to find a vendor there from Lampasas who sells mesquite lumber which the LOML fell in love with...  Obviously going to be making a trip to Lampasas soon.....

I did buy some things this year, but honestly could have paid to ship it to me cheaper than I paid to get into the event....

anyway, here's the score

Most of what I bought were supply type things that I needed,  Dust collection hose clamps, Sandpaper for turning, Acid Brushes, a new Glue Bot bottle because I broke mine, etc.

I did manage to buy a tilt box as you can see in the picture above you.  No I did not run out and buy these a year ago when everyone was making them and selling them, but it would have been handy a couple of times, so I decided it was good time to do it.  (the kit even comes with a small screwdriver to remove the screws from the back to put the battery in.... really?  Drop the screwdriver and put a easy to remove cover over it instead!)

I also bought a toolbox from Kreg with a bunch of pocket screws in it.  I did not buy the one with the jig in it, as I already have a jig.  I do like the box, I had seen the pre-order thing come out for it from a couple of different vendors.  What was interesting was Kreg did not have this for sale at their booth, it was for sale at woodcraft.  Hmmmmm...

Anyway, like I said, not sure I am going to go back until they can show me there will be more vendors there and more things to see, but you never know.
