So our old grill was acting funny when I cooked some steaks awhile back, took it apart the next day and the gas burner tubes have big holes in them, and some of the other inner parts of the grill are rotting and falling apart. Looked up some parts to see what it would take to get it going again and it was going to cost 200 bucks in parts alone...
Well for that I'll go buy another grill, and sell this one on ebay for parts...
In the process we found this 3-way grill at the blue box that looked interesting. It has a gas grill on one end, charcoal grill on the other, and a firebox that hangs off the charcoal side to let you smoke some meat. We have been looking for something to smoke some meat, but didnt want to spend an arm and a leg for it as we rarely have time to do it...
Well then we found out some of our friends bought one of these kinds of grills, and they like it. We ended up finding 3 different kinds between the blue box, sams, and academy.
D ended up deciding on the one at academy and had it hauled into the truck and brought it home
the box weighs over 200lbs!
all 3 of us worked on it and we got it all put together in the garage, took a couple of hours, wasnt real hard, just a lot of bolts...
got it moved to the back patio, coated all the interior parts with vege oil and then lit a fire for a couple of hours in all 3 sections to get it cured in nice...
next morning was Super Bowl Sunday, and we were having a little get together,
so I got a nice fire going in the firebox
got some wings out..
and smoked us up some wings...
I thought they turned out pretty well.
I learned a few things about the grill, and learned a few things about the sauces I used..
next time, they will be even better!
