NOT a 5 minute fan

our avid readers (both of them) will remember the story of the 5 minute fan we installed in M's bedroom that was NOT a 5 minute fan

We are such a huge fan

Well, we had another ceiling fan going south on us, the one in the living room.  It got off balance and was knocking the side of the mount as it swayed around.  Drove us all crazy.

so we bought one of those balancing kits and went to work on the fan.  Moving the weights around, trying to work out where the problem was.  It was totally crazy.  We would get the weights set, fire it up and it would run for a day or more just fine, and then we would come in and the thing would be swinging around again.  Work on the weights some more, find another good spot and that one would work for awhile, but then go away also.

UNLCE!,  I give...  fan's arent that expensive, we will get another one   (this one is as old as the house anyway, builder grade, etc)

so of course we ran down to the blue box and bought a 5 minute fan like last time....

NOT

We went out to the interweb and ordered a fan from Amazon.  Fan with no light kit, extension down rod, etc.

I was able to remove the old fan, take the new fan, assemble it, install it, mount all the blades, and all the finish pieces.....  without even opening the instructions...

It still took longer than 5 minutes, but it took less time than the 5 minute fan took us with all its crap.  And I had to read the instructions for the 5 minute fan.

New fan is in, works great, is stable as can be AND moves a lot more air than the old one did.
