Continuation of turning our house in swiss cheese

as I have talked about, I am running wires in the ceiling for surround speakers (and maybe others) as part of the LOML's B-day present
Part 1 of the story

This weekend I decided I needed to keep my roll going and see what I could get done on this project also.  My plan was to cut a hole in the ceiling just above the entertainment center, back in the corner where I could hide it later, and I could fish the wires through it.

Well best laid plans, Because of the goofy roof we have I had issues with barriers in the way in the ceiling and ended up cutting 2 more holes in the ceiling to allow me to fish the wires through.  It was certainly not the easiest thing I have ever done, but after a lot of climbing up and down the ladders on both ends of the living room, I did end up getting wires run to both speaker holes.  Get the speakers wired, mounted, and tested
One corner
Other corner.

I really like these speakers.  They are 6" dual range speakers from Polk Audio and the tweeter pivots so you can point it in the direction you need it pointed in.

Here is the swiss cheese portion above the entertainment center

here are some wider views of both ends.

We sat down and watched a movie that night and I think the placement is perfect.  Sound was great. surround was coming from exactly the right place.  Front speakers bouncing off the wall definitely fills the room.  I need to move the subwoofer as right now you can tell exactly where it is, but I have a plan for that.

What was funny was the movie we were watching had a scene in a jungle and bird sounds started coming from the surround speakers, the cat started going crazy as she could not figure out where that was coming from.

Other than turning our house into swiss cheese, I hope the LOML is happy with her present
